01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Warabi's thick hamburg steak yields a rush of juices at the press of a chopstick, remaining the cafe's central draw. The tender, pillowy patty is complemented by a house sauce balancing tomato acidity and the savoury depth of simmered vegetables. Plated alongside rice and colourful greens on a single dish, it makes for a thoroughly satisfying meal down to the final bite.
Morning-kneaded warabimochi and aromatic teas
The house speciality, Warabimochi, takes its cue from the shop's name. Hand-kneaded each morning, the confection offers a melting softness counterbalanced by an elastic chew. Delicate roasted soybean flour and dark brown sugar syrup coat the pieces, which can also be ordered in parfait bowls alongside warm boiled shiratama dumplings and ice cream. Harney & Sons teas—such as cinnamon, chocolate mint, and peppermint—are served hot, their fragrance cutting cleanly across the confections.
Pet-friendly terrace seating and relaxed hours
The dining room maintains a tidy, quiet atmosphere well-suited to unhurried solo lunches or an afternoon pot of tea. An airy outdoor terrace welcomes guests accompanied by dogs, making it a natural stop during neighborhood walks. Alongside espresso and lattes, craft beers and highballs are on hand whenever a midday drink is in order.
